You ask, we answer
The best time to visit Puri for a spiritual experience is during the Rath Yatra Festival (June-July) when Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra are taken on a grand chariot procession. Apart from that, winter months (October to February) are ideal for comfortable sightseeing and temple visits.
No, only Hindus are allowed inside the Shri Jagannath Temple as per temple traditions. However, non-Hindus can view the temple from Raghunandan Library located opposite the temple’s main gate. They can also witness the Rath Yatra, which takes the deities outside the temple.
Apart from the Jagannath Temple, must-visit places include:
✅ Puri Beach – A scenic spot for relaxation and witnessing the sunrise/sunset.
✅ Konark Sun Temple – A UNESCO World Heritage Site with stunning architecture.
✅ Chilika Lake – Famous for migratory birds and the Irrawaddy dolphins.
✅ Lingaraj Temple (Bhubaneswar) – A revered Lord Shiva temple.
✅ Nandankanan Zoological Park – Home to the rare white tigers and other wildlife.
